Hello, world! I study at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where I also major in International Studies, minor in Spanish & have earned a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications. Looking toward my last year as an undergrad, I’m grateful for a spring and summer chock-full of opportunities: the Chips Quinn Scholars’ training in May, the New York Times Student Journalism Institute in May/June, the Emma Bowen Fellowship conference in July, and a summer at the Center for Public Integrity as federal politics intern.
My mom grew up in Morgan Park, Chicago, my dad grew up in Cali, Colombia, and I grew up in a place where kids rode their tractors to school on special occasions. Now, I go to school with the third-largest American city in my backyard, where I can explore my own identity among countless unique stories.
