Hello, world! I'm Laura Zornosa and I study at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where I also major in International Studies, have a minor in Spanish & have a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications. As I wrap up my third year here, I’m looking forward to opportunities to come: the New York Times Student Journalism Institute this spring and the Center for Public Integrity as a Chips Quinn Scholar, Emma Bowen Fellow and Dow Jones News Fund intern this summer.
My mom grew up in Morgan Park, Chicago, my dad grew up in Cali, Colombia, and I grew up in a place where kids rode their tractors to school on special occasions. Now, I go to school with the third-largest American city in my backyard, where I can explore my own identity among countless unique stories.
